Monday Motivation: #noclutter

#CLUTTERHAPPENS

Does everything in your home have a home?

Clutter happens because things don’t have homes. Just like the Urban Campers clutter up cities, homeless things clutter up your home.

When everything has a home it’s way easier to put things away, a mere fifteen minutes each night will save you at least two hours of clutter-cleaning at the end of the week; keep in mind, mess creates more mess, it attracts it. Subconsciously you begin to think, welp! It’s already messy…what’s one more dish, or one more sock, or one more paper pilled on top… but it all adds up and man-oh-man does the total look disastrous at the end of the week..!

Less stuff=less mess, basic math.

More stuff=less mess IS possible +more mindfulness

Seriously, try it. For a week, spend just FIFTEEN minutes at the end of your day tidying up. Make it a family ritual, a quality bonding type-of-thing that inadvertently instills extremely helpful habits in your children— which promotes a more successful future for everyone in your family. If you don’t have any children yet this still applies to you.

But this will only work if, and only if, everything in your home has a home.

Things like to live with like items, i.e. ALL cleaning supplies in one area—but work with your natural habits; if that bottle of window cleaner needs to be live multiple rooms in your house rather than just one, that’s okay…however, keep in mind that the less work you make your brain do at home the more time you have to relax, and take it easy.

If everything has a home, and every like-item is in one area of your house then your mind will more easily remember: yes, ALL of my book are downstairs, in a special bookshelf, or on the floor, but they all live together. Same goes for clothes, too often precious outfits get long forgotten because they get stored away in a place where no one can see them; this does not fulfill your clothes life-purpose. Clothes wants to be worn, it wants to be enjoyed, like everything in this life, it just wants to be loved. So if you don’t love the way those pants look on you, or the way that T-shirt falls over your shoulders, or those shoes you bought that didn’t quite feel right after some use…

No clothes gets left behind. wear it or share it. Give it away, donate it, rip it up and make something out of it, play dress-up, say thank you and GOODBYE.

WELCOME NEW SPACE. WELCOME NEW ENERGY. WELCOME NEW YOU.

Embrace all your most wonderful possibilities. Embrace all of your flaws, they’ve gotten you so far and it just keeps getting better and better!

Trying is not over until we’re dead.

In the meantime what brings you the most joy and happiness?
