Monday Motivation: know thyself

…besides listening to the voices inside of your head how else do you get to know yourself??

In the spirit of getting to know myself, I’ve been feeling, noticing in myself how it is now time for change. I’ve been threading water for a long time, on my own for over a year —and that’s not counting my time in China.

It’s not that I don’t like being by myself it’s in being by on my own that I’m learning to understand myself and have been able to discern that it is time for change. It is now time for me to join a team. Because of this I’ve been reaching out to people, not many, just the ones the Universe sends my way.

The Universe recently brought to my attention a sweet little startup up called Think Space. Through my awareness of this remarkable business I discovered a couple of great resources to help me better understand myself. They are free assessments found online.

The first one is called the DISC assessment, it was interpreted by none other than Tony Robbins and is meant to help you further understand your personality. This simple & extremely intuitive test helps you to better understand what drives you.

What drives you?

You can learn more about yourself by taking the DISC test, here. This particular assessment will only take 15 minutes to complete and comes with a complete —comprehensive— super detailed results PFD.

The second intuitive assessment to help you better understand yourself is called the GRIT assessment. Knowing your level of GRIT can help you to better understand how much fuel you have to do the things that drive you. This assessment was created by the human known as Martin Tobias. It takes about five minutes to complete yet knowing your GRiT score is utterly invaluable for your entire lifetime. You can find the GRIT test here.

GRIT is so important to develop, nurture and grow. It is that thing that keeps us going towards reaching our goals. When you have the proper amount of GRIT nothing can hold you back.

How do you nurish your grit?

How do you keep yourself fueled?

To learn more about GRIT watch this interesting TED talk, “Grit: The power of passion and perseverance” by Angela Lee
