Perhaps, maybe, about ten or eleven years ago I was sitting in my psychiatrist’s office, just waiting to talk to my counselor, when I came across a golden piece of paper.
I was aware of the Golden Rule. I knew of it for quite some time… treat others how you would like to be treated. Yet, these Golden Rules for Being Human —as they were titled in the article— I’d never heard about.
The article printed on a golden yellow sheet of paper left the office with me that day, I took it home and framed it up.
For the next few years I had it displayed up in my room. Then I moved. Then I moved again. And again. Then again once more. Sometime between all the moves I lost the article. I’d long forgotten about it, I don’t know what made me remember but I am glad that I did —and super thankful for the internet.
I Googled it and was able to easily find a version of the “10 Golden Rules for Being Human”.
The full PDF is downloadable at the Colorado Education Initiative website, here.
This is the basic gist of it:
Rule One – You will receive a body.
Rule Two – You will be presented with lessons.
Rule Three – There are no mistakes, only lessons.
Rule Four – The lesson is repeated until learned.
Rule Five – Learning does not end.
Rule Six – “There” is no better [Present] than “here”.
Rule Seven – Others are only mirrors of you.
Rule Eight – What you make of your life is up to you.
Rule Nine –Your answers lie inside of you.
Rule Ten –You will forget all this at birth [and on the daily, so come back to it. Remember].

Enjoy this day. Make the best of it. Namaste.
